Background:
The Asia Pacific Malaria Elimination Effort has announced a call for applications for their Fellowship Program 2014. The organization was established in 2009 to bring attention and support to the under-appreciated and little-known work of malaria elimination in Asia Pacific, with a particular focus on P. vivax.
Purpose:
The APMEN Fellowship Program aims to equip the next generation of leaders and health workers from low and middle-income malaria-endemic regions with the tools and training to guide malaria elimination in the coming decades. It is also designed to promote collaboration by strengthening exchanges and lesson sharing among Country Partners and Partner Institutions in the region. The proposed project must be focused on malaria elimination.
The Fellowship provides capacity building opportunities for short-term (1-3 months) field work, professional development, and advanced training in issues and techniques that are important to malaria elimination but not always available in the recipient’s home country.

- Application Review period: until 30 June 2014
- APMEN award date: Starting June 2014
